Hi, I’m Jeanette, a UK textile designer, printmaker and educator creating contemporary textiles through observation, experimentation and process.
My practice brings together surface pattern design and experimental textile techniques, including screen printing, breakdown printing, embroidery and dyeing. I’m interested in layering, texture and mark making, combining hands-on processes with digital refinement to create distinctive and considered textile designs.
Observation is at the heart of my work. Inspired by the relationship between nature and the built environment, I gather visual references from the coastline, landscapes, gardens and overlooked spaces, translating organic forms, weathered surfaces and structural details into original textile collections.
Alongside my independent practice, I teach Art & Design in further education, Fashion and Textiles in higher education, and specialist printmaking and embroidery workshops. Teaching and making continually inform one another, encouraging experimentation, curiosity and a deeper understanding of textile processes.
I develop textile and surface pattern collections for fashion, activewear and interiors, alongside one-off textile pieces and experimental work. My aim is to create textiles that combine an authentic, process-led approach with contemporary design.
